Johnnie's obituary

Johnnie Bell Hayes also known as “Granny” was called home December 20, 2023 in the comforts of her home in Henderson, NV. Johnnie was born to Lucinda Ward and John Moore in Shelby County , Tenessee on January 4, 1933. She was the fifth child of eight. She grew up in Millington. She devoted her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a great exemplifier of her faith.

Johnnie later meet her Husband Bennie Hayes. They got married in Mississpi in 1948. She produced 12 children and later relocated to California. During that time she worked hard as a homemaker, providing a stable, safe , and loving home for her children and many others.

Johhnie finished raising her children in California, where she had become widowed.

Johnnie “Granny” enjoyed the family gatherings and celebrations. She had a great sense of humor and a strong hand to back it up. Mean looks but soft heart. Granny loved the open road and good food for her empty belly. Today we are heRe to honor her birth and celebrate her homegoing.

Johnnie is pReceded in death by her mother, Lucinda Howard; Father John Moore; Husband , Bennie Hayes;SISTERS, ERNESTINE COX AND DOROTHY HOWARD; DAUGHTER, BARBRA JOHNSON( KEITH JOHNSON SR.); SON JAMES HAYES.

JOHNNIE LEAVES BEHIND ONE SISTER EDDIE HOWARD; EIGHT CHILDREN, ELISE HAYES-SPEARS, SALLIE HAYES, SHIRLEY MILLER, ODELL HAYES, OZELLA HAYES, JOHNNY LEE HAYES, FRANKLIN HAYES, DOROTHY MULLEN, DORENE BELSER (GREGORY BELSER), AND CAROLYN HAYES PARNELL (KEITH PARNELL); AND A HOST OF GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, GREA-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, AND A HOST OF NEICES, NEPHEWS, COUSINS AND FRIENDS.
