Johnna's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Johnna Allison, born January 29, 1951, who left us on February 27, 2024. Known for her brutally honest personality, Johnna touched the lives of many with her vibrancy and unyielding strength.
Johnna leaves behind a treasured family, who carry on her spirit. She is survived by her dedicated daughter, Teresa Aubrey, and her understanding son-in-law, David Poffenbarger. She was a loving grandmother to Bianca Aubrey, Elijah Vasquez, Leoandro Vasquez, Khloe Aubrey, Rylee Evans, Trystan Noguiera, Sathina Allison, Steven Barron, Addarren Barron, and Desirae Allison. Johnna was predeceased by her cherished grandchildren, Saraya Barron and Ace Vasquez, along with her beloved husbands, Jack Souder and Roy Grubbs, and her son-in-law, Willie Aubrey.
Johnna moved to Duncanville, Texas in 2004 and quickly became a cherished attendee at Salvation Army Church. She had an endearing love for her community and a particular fondness for the VFW post, which she considered a local spot.
Navigate through the heartfelt passions of Johnna, and you will find her love for her favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Rangers. She spent countless hours rooting for them, often while enjoying her favorite drink, Gin and Tonic. Her leisure time was usually spent watching her favorite TV show, Blue Blood, or immersed in anything Disney which she considered her favorite movies.
Johnna had a deep appreciation for art, with Johnny Cash, George Strait and Dolly Parton among her favorites. She was also known to sport her favorite color, green, and find joy in her recreational activities, which she mainly spent at her great grandkids' games and with her family.
Johnna Allison filled our lives with genuine love and authenticity. Her memory lives on in each one of us who had the privilege of knowing her. She may physically be gone, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones. Rest in peace, Johnna. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
