John's obituary
John W. Yardley, age 57, passed away on August 6, 2025 in Mesa, Arizona, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born on December 14, 1967 in Winchester, Kansas, John lived a life full or service and an abundance of humorous quips. He served as a police officer and motor patrol sergeant for the Atchison Police Department in Atchison, Kansas, for 17 years. He then enjoyed another long career in the motorcycle service writer industry, mostly for Harley Davidson in Mesa, Apache Junction, and Scottsdale, Arizona. John was known for his very dry sense of humor, mischievous wit, enjoying long motorcycle rides, and going above and beyond to help those in need.
John is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Natalie, of the home, his two sons, Wes Yardley, of Shawnee, Kansas, and Joey Yardley, of Overland Park, Kansas. Additional survivors include his father Greg Yardley of Gilbert, Arizona, his brother Cory Yardley of Tempe, Arizona, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Yardley, and his maternal grandmother, Kay Kohrs.
In accordance with his wishes, John was cremated. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the family home.
