Texas, to Joe "L" and Marian Elsie Alexander Webb. He died August 31,
2019, in Harris County, TX.
John attended school twelve years in Denver City, Texas, where he played
trumpet and marched in the High School Band. He attended college at Sul
Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, and received a Bachelor of Science
in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Criminal Psychology. After that,
he moved to Houston and attended South Texas College of Law, where he
graduated with a Juris Doctorate.
While attending law school, John worked for the Harris County Sheriff's
Office as a Bailiff in the 176th District Court.
On February 9, 1973, John married Connie Smith in Denver City, Texas.
Together, they had three children. They were married for nineteen years.
John then married Mary Catherine Lamza in 1997. They were married for
ten years.
While attending Sul Ross, John became an active member of the American
Criminal Justice Association, where he has served in various positions for
over forty years. He was currently serving as Region II President and was in
the process of planning their annual conference. He was also active in the
Speakers' Committee and the Steer Auction Committee of the Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo. He has been a member of the Texas Bar
Association since 1984, when he was sworn in as an attorney.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Aguirre. He
is survived by his three children, Justin Webb of Denver City, Texas,
Jennifer Lee and her husband, David, of Cypress, Texas, and Jared Webb
and his wife Denise of Round Rock, Texas. He is also survived by seven
grandchildren, Kory Farquhar, Darian Lee, Nik Lee, Gracie Webb, Julianna
Webb, Joelle Webb and Tanner Crowson. Survivors also include one niece,
Becki Shrout and husband John, and nephews, Dustin Braden and wife
Renee, and Russell Braden and wife Liz, and their families, as well as a host
of friends.
John was a cowboy from a long line of cowboys, and he was proud to learn
that he had ancestors who settled in the Republic of Texas in 1844.
