John's obituary

John F. Weaver, 85, of Linden, NJ, passed away on August 26, 2019, due to heart failure and was surrounded by his loving wife, his two daughters, his son, his two sons-in-law, and the youngest of his beloved granddaughters.

He is survived by his beloved wife Anna Weaver, his brother Robert Weaver of Jerseytown, PA.; his children, Lisa (Mark) Evans of Wilmington, DE, Dania (William) Seibert of Skillman, NJ and Greg Weaver of Linden, NJ; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Randal) Cluss, Stephanie (Matthew) Garnjost, and Ava Seibert; and a great-grandson, Ryan Cluss.

John is predeceased in death by his brothers, Earl Huff, James Weaver, and Paul Weaver and his sister, Frances Meyers.

John was born in Danville, Pa. on February 28, 1934. John graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University School of Business in 1958.

After graduation, John was employed by General Electric and he subsequently moved to Massachusetts where he worked as a Cost Control Manager at Armstrong Cork Company and met his wife-to-be, Anna.

John and Anna wed in 1965, moved to Delaware, and finally made a home in New Jersey where he could commute to his new job at Merck working as a Systems Installer.

Before retiring in 1995, John was employed as an accountant for the Villa Contracting Company.

Known by his family and friends as "Jack" or "Jackie", he spent the formative years of his life in Danville, PA or as he often called it, "God's Country."

Jack played several sports, but he was particularly talented as a shortstop for the Danville High School Varsity Baseball Team and his local American Legion team, a team he led to runner-up status in the American Legion Pennsylvania Playoffs.

Jack was a generous, kind, and compassionate man with a sharp wit and a gifted mind. He loved to strike up a conversation with just about anyone and everyone. If Jack did not know the answer to your problems, he would research the solution and get back to you. And if you ever wanted a lifelong friend, all you need do was say something nice about Penn State.

In honor of Jack’s wishes, a private family memorial will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to Jack’s favorite charity, Autism Speaks, by visiting www.AutismSpeaks.org online.
