John's obituary

John Elmon Veader, Jr. passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on April 17, 2024, in Richmond, TX, at the age of 71. John was born on September 12, 1952, in Oakland, Maryland. In life, John was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the quintessential life of the party. His presence and wit were truly unmatched, and he was capable of striking up a conversation with old friends and strangers alike. John had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life through his innate humor and charm, and made sure to make others feel seen and heard. John was extremely crafty and had an incredibly creative mind. He could fix absolutely anything that was broken and he loved building things for his family, from kitchen tables to greenhouses and beyond. Even in his final days, John remained an ardent supporter of his Dallas area sports teams and rarely missed a Cowboys, Stars, or Rangers game. He will always be remembered for his humor, kind heart and witty nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie, his children Annie (Sterling) Thornhill, Michael (Heather) Veader, Jack Veader, Jill (David) Caligur, his 6 grandchildren, and his siblings Chris (Jack) Turcotte, Susan (John) Hall, and Rick (Janet) Veader. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jody Veader.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
