John's obituary

John Mark Turner passed from this life into eternal life on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at home, under hospice care, after a 12-month battle with cancer. John was a Christian, and is now at peace, pain-free, and with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

John requested cremation with his ashes scattered in the seas off the coasts of Puerto Rico, St. John’s Island, U.S. Virgin Islands and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico which were his favorite places in the whole world. A memorial service was held for John at the Somerset Baptist Church, Somerset, Texas on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

John was born on October 10, 1969, and he was 49 years, 5 months of age at the time of his death. John graduated from Poteet High School, Poteet, Texas, then he served in the United States Air Force. After his military service, John earned a Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from the University of the Incarnate Word School of Nursing, San Antonio, Texas, and worked in the Home Health industry for many years caring for disabled children. He is survived by his wife Ana, son Bryce, and stepchildren Osvaldo, PJ, and Leslie Garcia; parents Charles and Betsy Turner; sister Stephanie and her husband Lawrence Wilcox, sister Deborah and her husband Jason Jay, and brother C.L. and his wife Cashe Turner. Plus, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
