Bryce - I am sorry for your loss. I served with your dad in the USAF. We were deployed together for Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I remember when he worked in Inpatient Records at WHMC and was starting his nursing studies. Always had a smile for folks. May he rest in peace and may you cherish his memories y'all created together.
John was my Dad. He was a very caring person who had a tremendous heart and loved to help others less fortunate than him. He prided himself on being able to provide for his family. He went to church every Sunday and tried to make sure he lived by the Word. He had a love for music and culture unlike anyone I've ever met or seen. He taught me numerous lessons as a kid that I still use to this day. He didn't always do things the right way, but he was always well intentioned. Though it has been four years since he passed, I still think about him every day. I know he's in a much better place and is probably listening to Jimmy Buffet and playing golf (and probably still taking five minutes to hit the ball). Miss you Dad, and look forward to seeing you in Heaven one day.
John was a mentor and colleague of mine and I hold him in very high regard. I am incredibly saddened by his passing, he guided me in my career and taught me many valuable lessons. Some to be followed and do what he did and other by mistakes he made and help me avoid the same. He was one of the most kind and compassionate people I've ever met and became even more compassionate in the last 5 years.
He is a dear friend, that taught me that we all have flaws and make mistakes and that we are all capable of incredible amount of good.
