John Thomas Fleming
August 10, 1931 - October 10, 2021
After 90 years, John passed away on October 10, 2021, in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maureen Fleming, his son John T. Fleming and his wife Colleen M. Fleming, and his daughter Susan C. Fleming, as well as his six grandchildren, Dr. Kelly M. Fleming, John Conner Fleming, Liam J. Fleming, Donovan J. Allen, John W. Allen, and Delia C. Allen and many nieces and nephews.
John was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Mary (O'Connor) and William Fleming. John graduated from John Jay High School in Brooklyn, New York. Following graduation, John served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Maureen Crowley and settled in Deer Park, New York. John worked for the New York Telephone Company, now Verizon, for 35 years.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his brother Wiliam J. Fleming and his granddaughter Claire Catherine Allen.
Funeral services will be held at Goldfinch Funeral Home, 11528 Highway 17 Bypass, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576, on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 9:45 am. The funeral Mass will be held at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Avenue, Murrells. Inlet, SC 29575, on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 10:30 am.
