John's obituary
John Thomas Evans, 82, passed away on May 16, 2023, in his true home of Bellevue, NE. John was born November 1st, 1940, to late parents Richard and Edith Evans in Birmingham England. John was one of seven children; his brothers are Richard, Bill, Arthur and Donald and sisters are Beryl, Anne, and Susan. John married his wife Margaret of 61 years on December 2nd, 1961.
John and Margaret have two children John Richard, and Rachel Sarah. They also had three grandchildren, Sean Michael, Alexander Richard, and Jade Taylor- as well as a great granddaughter Alexis Lee. Grandson Sean coined John as Grandgrad, so that is how he will be referred from now on. Grandgrad also had many beloved pets in his 82 years, even a three-legged racoon (yes for real). He was loved so deeply and will be missed by so many. He was best friends to everyone in his family, especially his grandkids.
Grandgrad spent almost 40 years in welding, carpentry, and mechanics. He had the best building skills from here to Timbuktu. Grandgrad was also the most extraordinary storyteller, he was most famously known for his Never-Ending Story. Not only was he a great storyteller, but usually he was the story, so good luck God. He had a great memory and a sharp mind, and those qualities were mandatory for his cheeky dad jokes he told everyone; and I mean everyone. You couldn't meet him and get out of the conversation without a laugh. Grandgrad loved many things including an ice-cold coca cola, and hard-shell tacos (despite having no teeth), but most of all he loved his family, friends, and pets. Grandgrad took pride in being strong physically and emotionally; yet kept a warm and open heart for all loved ones. In a week you could bet five out of seven of those days you would see Grandgrad wearing a USA T-shirt. He had a great sense of grandpa style- sweats, a patriotic tee, and crocks with socks.
When you drink coca cola or see a USA shirt, I hope you think of our Grandgrad, John Thomas Evans. In a very Grandgrad style sendoff
"toodaleedoo, talk to you soon".
