My heartfelt condolences to John's family. You were the heart of the man we knew and worked with. John wore a tough sleeve and active mentor, yet admired straight talk, and effective communication followed by results. Outside of work, known for that contagious smile, and endless stories.

You're missed. Rest in peace, John.

I worked with John for 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing in Temecula, CA. John was loud and gregarious. Bigger than life. I can still hear him laughing. He brought a certain no nonsense, "let’s get it done" intensity that we needed. He was a bull but not a bully. Sometimes he was a bull in a china shop and it was endearing to watch the bull try to maneuver carefully among the delicate flowers.

RIP, John! You’ll me missed my friend.

A Friend and Buddy for 55+ years with the Biggest Heart I ever knew. A gentle soul who "manned up", when he lost both parents as a teenager but overcame the tragedy with the biggest smile you ever find. His success as an athlete came from his perserverance and pursuit of his dreams and desires to be a winner. I think most of us got our nicknames from John's creative mind in High School, which I'll never forgive him for 🙂. While the distance bewteen us after high school kept us apart for much of our lives, our conversations never did and they were always reflective and loving. The two of us planned to get together next summer at Machinac Island on Lake Huron for a personal reunion with our families but now wish we could have done it sooner. His Life was precious and apparently, God needed another ANGEL to watch over his family and smile upon us all. You scored big buddy in life and I look forward to our reunion in the spiritual world when I cross over the goal line and meet you in the end zone. Love You Buddy Rest In Peace.

Special thoughts  and prayers for Laura, Casey & Robert and their family.    Johnny was such a genuine, honest, loving soul. Many happy and fun memories of when I was little and him being with the family.  He will surely be missed. Love and prayers to the rest of the family and cousins.  It’s just so so sad 💕

I am very sorry to hear of John's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I have some very fond memories of John. We first met in 4th grade. We would sleighride down the hill next his house hoping we would stop before crashing onto the road. I was lucky enough to be on various sports teams with John in Little League baseball and basketball, then H. S. football and basketball. He hadn't yet perfected the great Strys smile at that time for the Little League pictures.  The last time I saw John was in '83' for the group photo at Chip's house. The smile was in full blown radiant force at that time. Rest in peace brother.

Strys family,John was always upbeat and positive and dedicated to the Rutgers Football fraternity ,With deepest sympathy with the passing of John,May God Bless!Pete Clark(76)
So very sorry for your loss. Prayers of comfort for his family.

I'm sorry for your loss 🙏🏼

May he rest in peace 🕊️

John was a very good friend. We went to high school together; and during college summers we worked at Kenvil Newcrete together. After Newcrete work, we worked out to prepare for the college football season,  We traveled cross country together shortly after college graduation.  When my job sent me to Houston, Texas, John was already there working for Texas Instruments.  Eventually, I took a job in West Virginia, then New York City and John headed out to the west coast. Our last big adventure was a skiing trip with Joe Stein in the Rocky Mountains. We all came down with the flu on that trip, but I think we all had a good time being sick together. We got a good poster out of it.

Thanks for the memories John

May God Bless You for Eternity

John’s son, Robt, and my son Brian played Little League baseball together. That’s when I first met John and Laura. What a great family. No matter whose child was up at Bat John always said good things and hope the best for them. I recently saw John at Starbucks and we were re-united and talked about our sons. He is so Proud of you, Robt.

I was so fortunate to coach Robert in high school football.  John was a very supporting and loving father.  John will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but will always live in our hearts because of his generosity and love.  My prayers go out Robert and the entire family.

Love, Coach Ken Potter

My husband and I attended JTHS with John, Class of 73.  He was a gentle giant with a big heart and his smile would light a room.. please accept our condolences.  Heaven has a new ANGEL🪽
