John's obituary

John Michael Steinhofer, 62, a Silver Cliff resident, died June 25, 2020 at his home. The son of the late George and Barbara (Griswold), John was born January 1, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. John graduated from Menomonee Falls High School and worked in sales for United Plumbing and Heating, Milwaukee, WI and warehousing for Dama Plumbing and Heating, Crivitz, WI for much of his life.

John loved the Green Bay Packers and was a loyal fan even when the Pack was not doing well. He relocated full time to his “happy place” at his cabin in the North Woods in 2013 and was thrilled to live there permanently instead of it just being a short vacation. John loved his family, Friday fish fry, a good card game, and spending Sundays watching football and winning the occasional Packer pool. John is most remembered for being the life of the party, for making friends wherever he went, his unforgettable laugh, quick wit, and great sense of humor.

Survivors include his children: Gregory (Kelli) Steinhofer, Austin Texas and Glen Steinhofer, Grafton; his siblings Robert (Patricia) Steinhofer, Green Bay; Jane (Todd) Reimer, Neenah; Philip (Susan) Steinhofer, Ashwaubenon; Janet (Ralph) Ewert, Hartford; his beloved grandchildren: Maxwell and Mayzie Steinhofer; and his former wife and mother of his sons Patricia Steinhofer. John is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.

"May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand."

"We think about you always,
We talk about you still.
You have never been forgotten.
And you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts
And there you will remain,
To walk and guide us through our lives,
Until we meet again."
