John's obituary
Ecuador, at the age of 74. John was born March 5, 1945, in Carlyle Saskatchewan to Russel “Russ” and
Sarah “Sadie” Statler. John raised his family in Calgary, AB where he worked in the oil and gas industry both in sales and pipeline inspection. John truly loved the simplest things in life, such as being with his family, having a laugh, and telling a great
story, which he was gifted at.
John was survived by his wife Enid Altsedter, his former wife Marj Statler and their two daughters Janelle
Brown and Jodi Statler-Whillans (Kristian). John had four grandchildren, Mason Brown, Olivia Brown,
Gaia Whillans and Tye Whillans. John is also survived by sisters, Kath Cameron (Eric), Sharon Thackray
(Jack), and Shirley Douglas (Mark), as well as many nieces and nephews.
