John "Johnny" Short, 79, of Independence, MO passed away as Jesus rescued him from pain and bondage on Thursday, Oct. 10th, 2024. John was born October 9, 1945 in Arkansas to Elmer and Lois (Caruthers) Short.

John is survived by his daughter Robin and her husband Russ; Daughter Christie; Grandsons, Russel Jr. & Ryan; Great Grandchildren Aleeya and Asher; Sister Vera and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his son Kenny; siblings: Jewel, Tom, Lowell, Jimmie, Mack, Hazel, Doris and both parents.

Grave Site Service will be Wednesday Oct. 16th at Mt. Washington Cemetery 12:00 PM, to celebrate his transition to a better life.
