This is such sad news.  I had tremendous respect for John and grateful for the years I worked for him.  My deepest condolences to his family.
My heartfelt sympathies to John’s family.  I enjoyed working with and then for John. He was intelligent, a strong leader and fierce advocate.  He will be missed.

Wishing the Schwind family and friends my sincere condolences.  Knowing and working with or for John over 30+ years at Merck I can say he was a pleasure to be around.  Knew and drove the business with the confidence and humor which he brought to us every day.  John was my friend (a friend to many) and he will be sorely missed!  Good bye John, may peace be with you, your family and friends.  The memories you leave behind will be with us forever!
John was a wonderful boss and a great mentor. He commanded the respect of those who worked for him and to whom he reported to. He was intelligent, funny and realistic. His professional accomplishments were significant and his sincerity was apparent to customers. He had a deep love for his children. I will always laugh at his reaction to a Mexican restaurant I took him to in Dallas, TX in the late 2000s. It is best described as a "hole in the wall." I have never seen anyone attack a bowl of guacamole like John that evening or delight in the size and taste of his carne asada. At the end of the meal when the bill came he said to me something must be wrong as the price was so low. What a fun evening! I know his last few years had been challenging which I regret for him and those he loved. May he rest in peace, loved and remembered.

I'm so sorry for the loss of John. I'll always think of him ready for a joke at work (Merck) he would answer my phone Dr Walsh’s phone - just to be fun… to this day, my friend Ellen and I still call each other Doctor .. we are not doctors, we just enjoyed the commaridy .. John was always kind to me.

I’m so sorry for this news - my hope is that he was happy … RIP Dr Schwind (🥲) you will always have a special place in my heart ♥️

I am so very sorry to John's family.  I met John for my  first job at Merck. I loved his great sense of humor and how incredibly intelligent he is.  Sending my thoughts and prayers.

I was so sorry to hear about John's passing. He was such a great boss and mentor. He “hit” the challenges at work much like I pictured him hitting running backs he was playing against in the football days he’d talk about. He was a supportive and empowering leader.

One of my favorite memories with John was outside of work, on a fishing trip out of Belmar. Countless others were discussing BBQ smokers (I got my first one because of him.)

I will miss you, John.

My deepest condolences and sympathy for you, the loved ones he left behind.

John was such a kind, smart and genuine guy. I’m so sad to hear of his passing 💔
So sorry to see this. John was a good man and mentor of mine during his time at Merck. He was great at what he did and was always great for a laugh with his witty sense of humor.  May he rest in peace, my condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
My condolences to John's family. I first met John in 2019-2020 and he was honestly someone who looked out for my best interest. He became someone quickly who I looked up to and would often come to for advice. We would often grill together, i’d come help him with yard work, pool work, etc basically whatever we could come up with. I wish I could’ve had another conversation with him, i’d tell him how much i appreciated him. Love you John
We were so very sad to learn of John's passing. I had the pleasure of working with John at Merck. Please accept our sincerest condolences. May your fond memories give you comfort during this very difficult time.

To the Schwind Family,

My deepest condolences! John was adored, respected and cherished.

John was an amazing colleague.  He was 100% committed to the mission.  When you travel with someone you learn about their character.  John had admirable values.

I will miss our talks about I State football and the Hurricanes.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing.  I truly admired him at work—his smarts and leadership and kindness.  Peace and strength to all his family.

Deepest sympathy on the loss of John. Wonderful person, professional and colleague! John will be dearly missed.

So sorry to hear this sad news. John and I met in Waterloo Iowa back in the 80s. He worked for Searle & I for Merck. We worked out together at a local gym. We later would work together for many years later at Merck HQ

Prayers & Condolences you your Family in this difficult time 🙏🙏
