I have way too many memories with Papa John. One of my earliest was meeting him for the first time outside of my church in Panama City when he was coming to pick up Meg after hanging out with me. I think after a day or two he let Meg and I stay together in a hotel room at the beach and took us to school together the next day. From there he became one of the most influential and important fathers figures in my life.
He took me to see snow for the first time on top of the Sandia’s and took me sledding at a cabin. We went on so many adventures from a baseball tournament in Lubbock to a Miami for a Dolphins game to Houston for an Astros game in and ever convincing me to go on “The Hulk” at Universal for the first time with Him, Meg and Zachy.
I loved and hated playing games with Papa John. He was so competitive and so was I. He beat me in Yahtzee so bad once it was embarrassing, but I got him back when I beat him in Top Golf my first time playing. Dad and Zach challenged Meg and I to a game of pool and when we won we never let him live it down.
There are so many memories I could share with Papa John. He is such an important part of my life and I am so blessed he let me be apart of his family. I love you and I will forever miss you dad❤️
