John's obituary

John Ezra Sampson
Born in Burkburnett, Texas the 8th child to Edwin Ezra Sampson and Amanda Octavia Evans on Feb 20, 1940.

Raised in a loving Christian home with several brothers and sisters - Eddie, Buddy, Joe, Dan, Violet, Jean, Dorothy and Elsie

Attended school in Gunter & White Settlement, Texas. A good puzzle always made him smile. He enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation and spending time with others. John realized at an early age he loved to work and the sense of accomplishment it brought. He loved working with tools and his hands. John was a master builder. As a tradesman he was an all-around Handyman, Master Electrician and a General Contractor.

As a Carpenter - John built many things: churches because he valued the freedom of worship, schools because he valued the education of children and office complexes because he thought people should work.

As an Electrician - John could wire anything. He got a kick out of wiring up huge machines then bringing them to life. He always made sure people had light. As a man, he brought that same power to everyone around him. Let’s “give em a hand”. John walked with a confidence wrapped in humility. He loved a good joke, and sometimes he liked to pull your chain!

As a Handyman - John loved helping others. He added a little bit of happiness to others’ lives in things he built. He made special things for special people such as: pantries, kitchens, bathrooms, ramps, stools, stairs, toy boxes and many other things. He tried to live a life that pointed others to Christ by loving & helping people.

He believed God the Divine architect of all things loves you; and sent His Son Jesus to die in your place, so we could be forgiven our sins and live with Him in heaven. John is home, Amen!

He believed God uses our lives to tell a love story. Not with words but through the things we do. Johns stories were told by his actions not words.

He believed God stood for justice, mercy and being humble. That you should stand for something and have a point. He still reminds us this is not our home. Look up to the heavens, one day, through our faith we will all get home.
