I have a ton of Barbara stories and not so many John ones. I did so love spending time with him last year. Otherwise, this one from a while back…

Putting this in writing makes it seem trivial but it wasn’t at the time! I’d been working on getting Steve to agree to getting a hot tub for a couple years and I was almost there. Right about then, Steve met John on a trip with the Bellas AND husbands. That hardly ever happened! I’ll jump to the end…John advised Steve not to get a hot tub, Steve was relieved, and I was pissed at John forever.

Well that’s not true - because I got over it quickly but it made for a better ending I think.

We will miss you John. Loved all the great times we shared with you and your wonderful family.
So sorry for your loss. Another one gone too soon. Love you ❤️
My prayers pour out to each of you as you mourn the loss of such a wonderful husband, father, friend. You all are an amazing family. My memory will be of John always smiling and how he beamed with joy because his world was a very happy place surrounded by all those who meant so much to him.
Much love and my deepest sympathy.

Your commitment to family was such an inspiration.  Our few visits were always full of good family stories. Your visits to Vero Beach were so appreciated.  Rest well.
So sorry for your loss, especially to such a cruel disease.  May you treasure the memories of your good times as you grieve your loss.
Barbara and family, John was such an amazing father, husband, grandpa and friend. I love we shared our wonderful grandsons!!!
From our first outing together in Cedar Key (remember that fish dip and golf cart) we knew we had met life long family!!!
John led such a full life and his legacy lives on!!!
You all remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers!!!
Lots of Love

So sorry for your loss. RIP    Beth Nichols

I was a home builder in Tallahassee for many years. I did a lot of pools with John, he did the pool at our home. My wife was John's ad rep for the Tallahassee Democrat. We both loved working with John and had a lot of respect for him. John was as good a person as you could get to know and was always a pleasure to talk with.

God Bless
