John's obituary
After graduating from Fairview High School, John attended undergrad at Oberlin College in Ohio. He then went on to medical school in St. Louis, MO where he attended Washington University School of Medicine and graduated with a specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (also in St. Louis) before moving his young family to Springfield, IL where he accepted a position as a partner with Sangamon OB/GYN (now SIU Medicine Obstetrics & Gynecology).
John practiced medicine in Springfield for over thirty years as a well-regarded physician to his community, as well as being an active member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church and later Central Baptist Church. He also had several opportunities to combine his professional experience with his faith through overseas mission work to Central America and Africa.
Throughout his life, John excelled at photography, as well as being fond of gardening and woodworking. He also enjoyed taking yearly trips with his family to Upstate New York, and spending time in nature. Additionally, he was known to listen to a little Cat Stevens, Three Dog Night, and Leon Redbone.
John is survived by first wife Gladys Pinero-Saint, their adult sons Andrew B. Saint (his wife Serina) and Nathanael T. Saint (his wife Kate Doyle). John also leaves behind his wife Cristy J. Ayala Saint and their young son, Marty Romero Saint. He is also survived by his brother and sister, three nephews, and two granddaughters (London and Serenity).
We pray for peace for those he leaves behind, comfort for those who loved him most, and grace for those who relied on his daily presence.
