Indeed, a man of God! I'm looking forward to the day when I reach Heaven, where I can see John again and express my heartfelt thanks for all he has done for my family and especially for me.

John was a great friend and family member to us. We have great memories of our young days at the U of I and later when we could visit in Spokane. We always admired John's work ethic and his devotion to his family. He was greatly loved.

Cathy, Joe and Andy,

One measure of life is how much others respect you and seek your advice.  In John's case he was respected by all in Pyrotek for over 20 years, hiring and mentoring many of them.  And Allan Roy and I would seek his wise counsel on all sorts of matters, both personally and professionally.  And there was no one more trustworthy than John -his integrity was unmatched.  But of all the measures of life, one's capacity to love must be the most important, and in this dimension, John kept hitting grandslams as he cared for his family and did his utmost to nurture all of you.  He had an infinite amount of love for all of you and would proudly talk about you incessantly.  May you be comforted w/ your loss by knowing John is smiling from Heaven , enjoying his wings and sorting out how to be the best angel on the team.  Don Ting

My condolences to John's family. I first met John 50 Years ago when we both worked for an accounting firm in Portland.  John had started before me so by the time I got there John was the super star of the office having passed the CPA exam with the second highest score in the nation. This is and was a big deal as the exam is really hard and thousands of people will set for it at any one time. The first time we met he came into the library where I was studying for my exam and I thought who better to ask about an accounting treatment than him. He took the time to explain this treatment in a clear and understandable manner and I remember thinking “ it’s not hard to see why he did so well on the exam”.  I think John was the smartest person I ever met and I’m proud to say he and I and our families have been good friends for these past 50 years. We will miss him, Dennis & Laura Jeffrey

I had tremendous respect for John and thoroughly enjoyed reporting to him briefly when he was the USA GM. Mindi and I always looked forward to spending time with John and Cathy at Pyrotek functions. Prayers for his family and friends.

My condolences to John's family. I first met John in 2001 in San Diego Pyrotek's Finance Conference - first global one for Pyrotek and also first of my trips to USA.

I was a young graduate - working as a Finance Manager in Pyrotek Czech Republic branch, who started to learn Big World.

I will always remember John as fair and humble professional who has a great sense of humor and loves his family.

I am so happy I have met this real Getleman.

I will never forget you John!

John was such a big part of my life.  First when I was a kid and he married my cool cousin Cathy.  He was so kind to us after our dad died.  Then, years later he encouraged me and mentored me in my career.  So many great memories of travels, and dinners, and theater with he and Cathy.   John will be missed but forever remembered with love.  He was one of the good guys.
