John W. Rideout, fondly known as "Big Uncle John" or "Uncle John Classic " passed away peacefully on January 20th 2026 in Wareham Massachusetts at the age of 81 after a short battle with colon cancer. Born December 3, 1944, in Braintree Massachusetts. John lived a life full of humor, hard work, and heart.

After proudly serving 18 months on an aircraft carrier, John returned home and built a dedicated career working in the tall building in Boston until he retired. Never one to sit still he traveled across Australia for 6 months to come home to unretire and drive a bus for the city of Quincy.

John was proceeded by his parents Wilbert and Margaret Rideout of Braintree Massachusetts He was survived by his only son Matthew Fenelon of Pembroke Massachusetts and sister Deborah Rideout of Braintree. His Juvenile delinquent daughter he never had Lindsey Chase Simons and Chris Simons of Wareham and Nieces and Nephews Marlin Chase Lebaron, and James Lebaron jr of Gibsonton FI. Robert Chase and Tia Chase of Bridgewater Ma., John Chase of Brockton Ma, Great Nieces and Nephews, Taylor Smit, Mathew Chase jr, Robin Chase, Andrea Chase, Brook Chase, Christian Chase, Cammron Lebaron, Aurora Chase, Jaxson Lebaron, Killian Chase. Great, Great niece and nephew Kylie Cimino, Hendric Smit.

Anyone that knew John knows he didn't like anyone to make a fuss over him. He would eat anything and said he would never be late for supper. He was a humble man filled with Jokes and a light that would guide you through the darkest storm. He was a man with many IOU's from his chase clan and Ill get around 2 It plans. He touched so many lives in one way or another that it would fill a chapter book. Even with has last few days on Earth he was placing little john in a corner and telling stories to all of us and cracking those jokes he loved to tell sc it will be Bye For Now may you rest in the Sweetest Peace.
