It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John "Big John" Pyles, a dedicated family man and pillar of strength, on March 2, 2024. Born on June 14, 1942, John left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone who had the fortune to know him.
John is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Pyles, whom he married in 1972, and his children, John Pyle and Michelle Pyle. He also leaves behind his beloved grandsons, Jared Pyle, Marcus Cook, and Timothy Cook. His absence will create a void in their lives that will never truly be filled.
In 1958, John began his career at Marianna mines. His strong work ethic and dedication led to a fulfilling career that concluded with a well-deserved retirement. He always said, "hard work pays off," and his life was a testament to those words.
Known as the pillar of the community, John attended the First Presbyterian Church. He was a caring and supportive individual whose strong character was only matched by his boundless kindness. His legacy of kindness, compassion, and hopefulness will forever resonate within the community.
Among his greatest accomplishments, John was most proud of his family and the love-filled life he shared with them. His unexpected passing was a shock to all, and he will be truly missed.
A funeral service for John will be held on March 8, 2024, at 10:00 PM at Nichol Funeral home located at 1728 Main St. in Marianna, PA We gather to remember his amazing life and to celebrate the man who taught us all the power of kindness, strength, and hard work.
