John's obituary

John William Prince, 82, of Sausalito, died unexpectedly on September 14, 2025, due to inconclusive causes, after a full and well-lived life. Born July 1, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John was the friend who always showed up to help, volunteer, listen, and care. He was generous, warm-hearted, compassionate, witty, and fun. Those who knew John Prince deeply loved him.

John is survived by his younger brother, Doug, and his sister-in-law, Sharon, and his cousins, Jim, and his wife, Tricia, Bill and his wife, Judi. John joyfully volunteered at Battery Townsley and at the Throckmorton Theatre and found immense pleasure in supporting both organizations.

After serving in the Air Force for seven years, attaining the rank of captain, he moved to Colorado, then Arizona, finally landing in California in 1985. John achieved his bachelor's degree at Grove City College in Pennsylvania and then continued his education at College of Marin. John loved learning. Working with Decker Communications for two decades, he was gifted at training executives in presentation skills and public speaking. With his soothing and sonorous voice, John was also an aspiring voice actor and a brilliant storyteller.

John was popular and adored in many circles of activity in Marin County, and there are multiple celebrations of his life and memorials taking place. The main memorial took place at Battery Townsley on Sunday, October 5th. John's final resting place will be in Riverside National Cemetery in Southern California.

Furthermore, because John’s passing happened suddenly, his brother and wife have had to attend to the many necessary arrangements, and it has produced a financial burden for them. We would greatly appreciate any support you could provide instead of flowers.
