I met John at a place we both worked at and we quickly became friends as we both played guitar, he much better than me.

He taught me some cool licks and showed him a couple of things I learned along the way.

I soon realized that he liked to collect guitars and had a few myself . He was great at repairing and setting up the action and fixed several of my axes to play way better than when I got them.

John had a great sense of humor and an easy going approach to life that I admired. We shared old stories from the old hippy days and basically had an honest and trustworthy relationship.

I knew that he had been admitted to UCLA Harbor General Hospital with swollen legs but I never got to visit him as they transferred him to a nursing home and I lost touch with him. When I couldn’t contact him anymore I got worried that he might be in dire straights. No one tried to contact me about his condition or that he had passed away.

I’m very saddened by his passing and will miss him so much!
