John Olivero's Celebration of Life by Zoom meeting, March 20, 2024, at the home of his wife, Kathleen
My deep condolences to the Olivero family. I just noticed this today. I was a USAF officer assigned to the Basic Meteorology Program at Penn State 1976 to 1977. Dr. Olivero was one of my first professors there for Climatology and I still remember some of the precepts he taught us in that course. (I was reciting them to my original PSU college roommate on the phone today.) I had him for one other class. I found him to be knowledgeable, clear, personable, and fair. We were also members of Our Lady of Victory Church in State College, so it is possible that we met the Oliveros once or twice. My ex-wife used to comment on how joyfully he sang in the choir. This is a familial loss and a scientific one. My prayers are with the Olivero family. - John D. Wedo

I very much appreciated John for his humor, his wisdom, and for hiring me! I appreciated his warmth when he took me out to dinner (the Chart House, I think) for my faculty interview and drove me around to show me some of the neighborhoods in Daytona. John also kindly guided me through the process of becoming a new faculty member at ERAU with a light touch and again, humor and wisdom.  My condolences to his family and many friends.
