My Brother John: all his life was fun and a true friend to me. He just said things like they should be said to get to common sense and right. Growing up John was sometimes just a little mischievous or even a lot. He loved people and helped me learn to love too. When he cared he really did. His heart was caring. He some times was hard and kinda tough on me at times. Mostly it was to try to teach me. He truely loved his family with all he had and behind his tough shell, John, was a warm fuzzy caring man. His family and God he loved and wanted to help any way he could. I know he made mistakes but he did all he could to make it up and do better and improve. This way about John always inspired me as did his friendly kindly greetings. He was a guy who you know wanted to be a hero for the good and the right and even competitive to be your friend. I love him and still have his caring prayers felt for all he loved including God. Family. Liberty. Life. His.bad knees and body pains are gone and I know he is in a better place. Praying and doing all he can to pray for us. His family and friends should all know he wants the best for us. Live on!

John was one of the first people I met at Church who immediately asked get-to-know-you questions. I got to know him and Arnold Wilcox on a couple of girls' camps in Marion, UT. He had a probing mind, with curious questions, and truly sought for truth and out-of-the-box answers. He asked questions in High Priest group meetings in the old Winder 7th Ward building in the choir seats that demanded much more than yes/no answers. He was bold and unafraid to search the mysteries, as commanded, and would not be submitted to simplicity. He became a good friend while I knew him and one I could safely and comfortably discuss anything, political, medical, metaphysical, scientific, philosophical, and religious. I can say that I have missed him and our conversations since his family move to Washington County.
But significantly, he can be measured by the great kids he raised and the wonderful wife he chose. Certainly, he was a pillar in the Winder West Stake as he will be in the mansions of His Father! 😇
