John's obituary
John Myer, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, just five weeks after the love of his life, Lois, went home to be with the Lord. Their reunion in heaven brings comfort to those who remain, even as we grieve the loss of a remarkable man.
John was a man of unwavering faith who dedicated his life to serving God and others. He was a cornerstone of his church community—a gifted teacher, counselor, prayer warrior, and encourager. He taught future pastors in ministry school, led men’s groups, offered marriage counseling with Lois by his side, and supported others through soaking prayer. A peacemaker and a gentle presence, John had a gift for knowing just when someone needed a word of hope or a heartfelt prayer.
He was also known for his quick wit and love of laughter—always ready with a joke or a kind word to lift someone’s spirit. His joy was contagious, and his encouragement left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
Family was John’s heart. He was a devoted husband to Lois, and a proud father to his twin sons, Ken and Karl—who he often called “the light of his life.” As a grandfather, he poured his wisdom and curiosity into the lives of Lauren, Ashton, Hannah, Alexandra, and Jonathan. Whether he was teaching history, explaining the stock market, or helping build miniature engines, he made learning an adventure and time with him a treasure.
He was also a proud great-grandfather to Sienna and Beckett, and a beloved brother to Marilyn. He is survived by his sons Ken and Karl & Kathy , his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn, and nieces Leslie, Joanna, Sherry and Corky.
John lived a life marked by deep love, quiet strength, and an enduring faith that touched everyone who knew him. His legacy of kindness, joy, and devotion will continue through the many lives he influenced.
