John and I became friends in the early 70's while working for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department. I left the Police Department in 1985 to join the FBI. However, we stayed in touch through the years. John was a remarkable family man. In service to his country and community, he performed with honor and distinction. I've attached a group photo of a tour I arranged at Whiteman Air Force base a few years ago. It's easy to spot John in the photo not only because of his physical stature, but because of his genuine smile. May the Lord give John's family comfort and peace in this time of sorrow.

I worked with John in Narcotics, and off-duty, he built a large deck on a new house of mine.  I still remember that deck took what seemed forever to complete, but it may have been the number of Popsicles he would stop to eat throughout the day with my daughters, who were little at the time.  He will be missed.  Great man.
We sure will miss John stopping by on his UTV at the lake community, oftentimes with his granddaughter in tow.  Both long-term law enforcement officers, Brent has fond memories of working with him coordinating interagency projects.  A big man with a big smile with more projects than any single human could conquer!  Sure loved his family.  Rest in peace, good man.

I also worked with John at the Hickman Mills School district. He was genuinely a kind and caring man! Always willing to help in anyway possible and we had lots a of great conversations! He was always an advocate students as well as kids he knew in general! It's no suprise those grandbabies were his pride and joy as well! Sending prayers to the family during this difficult time! Gone but never forgotten John! Rest in peace.

To John's family...I worked with John at Hickman Mills School District.  The District was lucky to have had him for those 10 years.  In addition to his  expertise, he was a genuinely good and giving person with a good heart.  His was a life well lived.

From my family to yours sending you all love, hugs, prayers and condolences. John (aka Dad) was loving, caring man who had a heart of Gold. He would do anything for you. Years growing up across the street and working with him in Security at the school left me with loving memories.  Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers during this time. May God wrap his loving arms around each of you.

Love, Gracie and Family

I have known John for 35 years, worked with him at KCPD in Narcotics, Homicide, and off duty jobs. Kept in touch after we both retired and talked on the phone with him frequently, as well has had  some great meals. Will be greatly missed.
My heart goes out to the family and May God bring comfort to all !
