John's obituary
John T Mattson
Gone sooner than expected on Tuesday September 27th at age 56. John was surrounded by more love than he could ever ask for. He took pride in being a Seabee and served our country in the Navy from 1985 to 1990. After being honorably discharged, he fulfilled his dream of having a family and had 3 children with his wife. John loved being a Dad so much, he would rather be told Happy Daddy's Day instead of Happy Father's Day. Although his marriage ended with a divorce, he proved himself to be a dedicated and loving dad to his children. He lived in a few different states but he found his way back to his home state Minnesota and settled in Zimmerman. He loved to visit his children and grandchildren in Colorado as much as he could. He was an awesome Grandpa and enjoyed making his grandchildren laugh and smile. John was a loyal Vikings fan and had a passion for fishing and music, particularly rock and roll. He was a very creative and wholesome man who loved to laugh. Thanks to his wonderful friends, he was given a nickname, SA John, which he included on the bass guitar he built. Before he passed, John made the decision to move back to Colorado and everyone who knew him could tell how happy he was about that. We will miss his life stories, amusing jokes, wise advice, and contagious laugh.
John was reunited with his Grandma Evelyn and Mother Joan in heaven. Survived by his father Tom; aunt Judy; sister Danielle (Greg); children; Angellica (Joshua) , Almina (Timothy), and Thomas (Colleen); neice and nephew Emma and Cody; grandchildren Alex, Candyes, Ellonna, Leon, Noah, Damien, Alexa, and Jaiden; and many close friends.
A celebration of John's life is planned for next year around Spring time.
