John's obituary
Born in Parramatta to Gloria and Kevin Massard, John was a quiet boy who loved to spend his time outdoors and tormenting his sister Jenny. John was fiercely passionate about being a cowboy (because he loved hats) from the start but ended up dedicating his life to both his pursuit of Education and his family.
After he graduated, John landed his first job as a Primary School Teacher. This kickstarted a career in Education as a Principal. In 1978, John met his wife, Karen and went on to have three lovely children Sarah, Tracey and Tim. John always put family first and was a dedicated father.
John was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family. His children will always remember his Dad jokes and his wicked sense of humour.
John was also passionate about cycling and Football (soccer). He spent most of his time playing World of Warcraft, managing soccer teams, preaching at Greystanes Uniting Church, leading Youth Groups, travelling, playing card games and board games with friends and family (no one mention the game Forks). John also enjoyed reading and spending time in nature.
