Things I especially loved about John: his excitement at showing off his prize-winning hydrid day lilies each year and, especially, the love and joy he brought to my beautiful, smart dearest friend Barbara.

We had the pleasure of meeting John several times both in Madrid and the USA. A remarkable man with boundless energy and enthusiasm who will be sadly missed. Our deepest condolences to Alex and Jennifer, to Barbara and to the extended family. May he rest in eternal peace 🙏
