John is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Lock, whom he married in 1985 and spent many blissful years with. He leaves behind his daughter, Teresia Marino, and sons Courtland, Joshua, Marc, Patrick, and Zachary Lock. He was a proud father-in-law to Briaunna, Mylinda, and Philip Marino. His joy extended to his grandkids - granddaughters Carissa Randall-Marino and grandsons Warren Marino, Courtland Lock II, Christopher Curtis, and Travis Lock. His legacy includes a great grandchild Aiden Curtis whose memories of their great grandfather will be cherished forever.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn (Buzz) Lock, his mother Joan Overton, his brother Glenn Lock and his sister Theresa Lock. His brother Norman Lock survives him, holding onto the precious memories they shared.
John was a man of service. In 1983, he retired from his dedicated service in the United States Military. He then embarked on a second career, retiring from the United States Postal Service in 2012. His commitment to service and providing for his family was unwavering, a virtue that made him a beacon of strength among his loved ones.
A celebration of John's life will be held at 1:00 PM on June 14, 2025, in Altamonte Springs. This will be a time to remember John as he was - a man of honesty, who lived his life to the full, always standing up for what he believed in.
John’s love for life was evident in his simple pleasures. He had a taste for the classics, enjoying meals of Steak and Baked Potatos with Sour Cream, washing it down with Unsweet Iced Tea, no lemon. He enjoyed listening to Country Music, watching his favorite movie, The Quiet Man, and cheering on his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins. His favorite hobby was watching TV, often doing so while surrounded by his family. An aficionado of the color orange, his personality could be best described as blunt, mirroring the straightforwardness that orange often symbolizes.
John’s greatest accomplishments included his Military Service, fathering 6 children, being a loving grandfather to 5 grandchildren, and becoming a great-grandfather. He was always welcoming to his children and grandchildren when they were in need, creating a legacy of warmth and unity among his family members.
John Lock has left an indelible mark on our lives. His life serves as a testament to power of resilience, love, and plain-spoken honesty. He will continue to live on in our hearts, inspiring us to live truthfully and love unconditionally.
