John had a big heart; he’d give you the shirt off his back. He was well known for being the “selfie king” and getting the infamous selfie with President Trump. He loved going camping and riding his jet ski’s out on the lake with family and friends. He would take walks and film his update videos in his backyard with his sidekick, Romie.

John started working as a bagger at Publix Supermarkets at age 14. He worked his way up to truck driver. He left Publix in 2003 and continued his truck driving career at Walmart. John loved his job; he called it trucking therapy.

In  2016 he was named Georgia Driver of the Year, and was an active member of the GA Road Team and America's Road Team.  In October of last year he was awarded the 2021 Trucking Cares Foundation Premier Achievement Award.

John never met a stranger, from iconic selfies with the President, serving at many GMTA and ATA events, doing the job he loved, and spending time with family and friends.
