John's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John "Gino" Lebro.  Born on March 21, 1951, he bid us goodbye on July 8, 2020, leaving a deep void in the lives of many.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Nanette Lebro, his sons Gino, Tony and Joseph Lebro, and his step-son, Shane Hallinan and his Daughter-in-Law Michelle Hallinan.  He was a cherished grandfather to Niccoli, Giovanni, Joseph Lebro Jr., Emma Hoang, Miradonna Lebro, and his grandaughter-in-law Taylor Hallinan. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Richard Lebro, and his grandparents, Gino and Philomena Brandolini.

A man of distinct tastes, John enjoyed a home-cooked Italian meal, accompanied by a refreshing Moxie. He found solace in the tunes of Steely Dan and the Beetles, and much enjoyed The movies like the Godfather, Good Fellas, and Pistol Pete. He was a dedicated supporter of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Celtics.

John's favorite pastime included cooking, experimenting with new recipes, fantasy sports, playing pool, catch and basketball.  John spent many quality years coaching his sons baseball and took the role as coach for little league baseball.  He often spent his leisure time at Bill A's Cue Club and Fatso's Billiards and won his teams many championship trips to Las Vegas in the APA league.  A man of great love, John deeply treasured his mother, wife, and children, making them the focal point of his world.

Described by loved ones as funny, stubborn, and street-smart, John always had unique wisdom to share. His lessons on saving money, maintaining individuality, and understanding sports, have left an indelible imprint on many. His noteworthy accomplishments include his recognition as an exceptional high school football quarterback and basketball point guard as well as his claim to fame photo being printed on the Woodstock album cover. These achievements attest to his legacy of strength and perseverance.

John held a special place in his heart for his dogs, Max, Jake, Jeremy.  He loved animals, especially dogs.  He had his Rules, that he lived by, and if you were in his domain, you must follow them too.  He was the embodiment of tenacity and endurance, John's departure is a significant loss.  His teachings, love, and memories, however, continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
