John Watson Lavers was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia to late Clifford Watson Lavers and Ruby (Singer) Lavers.
He moved to Ontario, where he started his family with Valerie Waffle, mother of his two sons, Matthew and Ryan.
He met his best friend, Albert, with whom he shared the sense of humor and the love for country music.
