John's obituary
John Watson Lavers was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia to late Clifford Watson Lavers and Ruby (Singer) Lavers.
He moved to Ontario, where he started his family with Valerie Waffle, mother of his two sons, Matthew and Ryan.
He met his best friend, Albert, with whom he shared the sense of humor and the love for country music.
Here he also met his mentor and forever friend, Roland Lacey and his incredible wife Martha and became as close as family.
John moved his family from Etobicoke to Bolton, where the boys grew up.
This is where Jana comes in...European nanny that came from former Czechoslovakia to help Johnny raise the boys after he split up with Valerie. Just for 1 year...so they thought...until Jana fell in love with Ryan, Matthew and of course, Johnny...and they lived happily for the next 32 years.
The family grew and Johnny's daughter, Emily was born, followed by his youngest son Alexander.
3 dogs, 3 cats and an albino ferret were all part of Johnny's life.
Johnny loved nature, traveling, gardening, biking, skiing and dedicated a big part of his life to his company "Alhan Electric", which he eventually had to let go due to his progressive Alzheimer's disease.
The last 2 years of his life Johnny spent in Long Term Care facility where he was loved, cherished and well taken care off.
Big part of his care until his last breath were his sister-in-law Lynne and her husband George, beautiful people, inside and out.
Johnny is survived by:
- his wife and the love of his life, Jana Kridlova
- his four children: Matthew (Belle), Toronto, Ontario
Ryan (Jessica), Bathurst, New Brunswick
Emily and Alex, Bolton, Ontario
- his three grandchildren Logan, Lyric and Luna (Ryan and Jessica)
- his siblings Robert (Diana), Doris (Joe), Butch (Betty), Bill (Kim), Chris (Stella) and brother-in-law Dale (late sister Carol)
- many nieces and nephews
John became a big part of Jana's family in Slovakia and will be sadly missed by her parents Stefan and Jana, siblings Jan (Kate) and Stefan (Inez) and their families, as well as MANY friends that will keep Johnny in their hearts forever, especially Kacenka, Ivka, Poli, Hela and their families.
The amount of people that were touched by Johnny's generosity would fill up a book.
However, he left behind an incredible legacy in Africa.
Instead of spending money on traditional funeral, Johnny and Jana decided to make a donation for a water well in Zambia, where thousands of people are dying from one of the worst deaths imaginable: THIRST.
Today we mourn John, but knowing that every person that drinks water from "his well" is a witness to his kindness, gives us a great pleasure.
Celebration of John's Life will be held on Sunday, November 20th, 2022 for his immediate family.

And lastly, let's share some of Johnny's thoughts on worry:
"There are only two things to worry about...either you are well, or you are sick.
If you are well, you have nothing to worry about. If you are sick, there are only two things to worry about...either you will get better or you will die. If you get better, you have nothing to worry about. If you die, there are only two things to worry about...either you will go to heaven or you will go to hell. If you to heaven, you have nothing to worry about. If you go to hell, you will be so busy meeting all your old friends that YOU WON'T HAVE TIME TO WORRY".
REST IN PEACE, JOHNNY!
