John Dave Lane of Mesa, AZ was born on November 21, 1947, to John Emory Lane and Mary Maxine Cates. John passed away at home on May 23, 2023. He returns home to the welcoming arms of his beloved wife, Carla Elizabeth Lane, who preceded him in death on April 24, 2016.

John married his High School sweetheart Carla Elizabeth Heath on June 3, 1967. Shortly after they started their life together, war broke out and John enlisted in the US Air Force. He served proudly from February 24, 1969, until December 20, 1981. Traveling as a family from station to station, John served in Sasebo, Japan (Naval Base), Davis Monthan AFB, Clark AFB Philippines, and ending at Fort Leavenworth, KS. His final rank was TSGT as a Law Enforcement and Corrections Supervisor. John and Carla returned to Arizona to be close to family. John then served with US Postal, as a Mail Carrier until he retired in 2009. 

He is survived by their three children: Sheri Lynn, Brian Nathaniel and Daniel Alan. Together, Daniel and Annie blessed them with two grandsons: Ty and Phoenix. Brian and Lori blessed them with two granddaughters: Hailey and Rylee. Later Danny and Jazette added two additional granddaughters to the family: Brooke and Payton.

John Lane will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched throughout his journey on this earth.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life are planned at VFW Post 7401 Chandler, 751 S Arizona Ave Chandler, AZ 85225 480-963-1777 AZ, from 1 PM - 5 PM on July 1, 2023.
