John's obituary

John Arthur Kramer passed away on June 25th, 2021 after complications from liver/kidney failure.

John was a husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and nephew who truly did great things with his life. John joined the United States Air Force in 1982 as a bomb loader and retired from active duty after 25 years in the service working on weather systems. John continued his career in weather as he joined Raytheon and truly loved what he did. You couldn't have a conversation with John without talking about weather at some point.

John was also a devoted husband, married to Sylvia Ann Kramer for 35 years before her passing in October of 2020. John and Sylvia met in England where he was stationed in the 80s and they fell in love. On top of living in England together they also lived in Germany as well as their final stay in Bellevue, NE. John and Sylvia weathered many storms together both literally and physically speaking and John could give you a play by play of each one that happened. They were strong together and are even stronger now that they have been reunited.

John was a father of 3 children as well, Kyle Kramer, Kayla Nicholson, and Lisa Hardee. John always had a soft spot for Kayla as his princess which showed every time they were around each other. You would see Johns eyes light up when him and Kayla would talk about just about anything. Kyle and John had the same passion for music and absolutely loved heavy rock music whole heartedly. Lisa moved in during Johns last months to help him out and we all know he will be forever grateful for that.  John's aunt Jan and him had a strong relationship with each other, speaking often about anything and everything which brightened up their day.    John had a passion for weather as well as aviation and it was very obvious to all who spoke to him. He would talk about working on F-111s in the Air Force or his grandfathers air field in New York as a young boy. He could sit with you for hours and talk about how a cloud is formed and what dew point really means. His passions were admirable as you knew he was an expert in his field.

Along with weather and aviation John was a fan of music. He amassed a guitar collection of over 20 guitars in his lifetime as was a very skilled guitarist. He even offered guitar lessons and we all found out after he had passed that his nickname was "The big toe" in the music world. John would shred on his guitar for hours on end hitting each note as if he was a professional.

John had a passion for building models, specifically anything to do with Da Vinci's inventions. He would put these models together meticulously and display them around his room. All in all John had about 20 perfectly constructed models around his room. Among Johns other passions were collecting music, movies, Star Wars, Star Strek, Aliens, and even Hellraiser.

What we all remember John for was his sense of humor and his laugh. John had such a unique laugh that would make you laugh just by hearing him. He would randomly pop into a room and tell a joke and then leave, that was John...a true comedian at heart. Anyone who is related to John or worked with John knows that he had a serious side as well as a silly side. We all love him for who he was.

In conclusion, John was a man of passion in many different fields and found a way to be an expert in all of them. He had a big heart and would help anyone he could and did.  Johns final wish was to be cremated with his favorite guitar which was honored.  He can now rest easy shredding his guitar in the afterlife.  John, we all miss you and we are so happy that your suffering is now over. You are at peace and reunited with your lovely wife Sylvia. We all love you....

We will be holding Johns funeral on July 28th at Omaha National Cemetery at 9:00AM and immediately after will have a reception at Base Lake in Bellevue, NE. The address for the cemetery is 14250 Schram Rd. Omaha, NE 68138.

John will be receiving full military honors during this ceremony.
