Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, John Kanellos. John passed on January 7, 2022, surrounded by family, friends, music, love and faith. Born on August 2, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Nick and Gilda Kanellos, he was a brother to Rosanna (Louis) Del Prete, James (Mary) Kanellos, and Mary (Eleftherios) Haniotis. He graduated from West Babylon High School in 1965 and joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force base and met the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Teresa. They were married 53 years. They had three loving and devoted children, Alethea (Sergio) Rodriguez, Nicholas (Victoria) Kanellos, and Cassandra (Sam) Guitard. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Demitrius, Damien, Dominick, Donovan, little Victoria, Ezio, and Eristea. He was an uncle to Antoinette (Paul) Semetsis, Louis Del Prete, and Anastasia Haniotis, and a great uncle to Nicholas and Rosanna Semetsis and Gianna Polin. He retired from the Post Office as a mail handler after 30 years in 1997 and has been living life to the fullest ever since. He was the best husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend anyone could ask for. Everyone who knew him loved him and he loved them right back. His shoes will never be filled and things will never be the same. John, we will always love and miss you.
