John's obituary
Apostle John M. Kako transitioned into the presence and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ his Savior on August 24th, 2023, at the age 74. He was born on January 27th, 1949 to the late Francis Kako Mutia and the late Esther Mukethi Kako in Kitumbi village, Kasevi Sub Location, Thokoa location, Migwani sub County, Kitui County, Kenya. He was the first born of his parents and step son to the late Lydia Mumbi Kako. He was brother of Jemmimah Mutei, late Rev James Kako (Winfred) Jennifer Muli, Elizabeth Mutuo and the late Steven Ngala, Philip Kako ( Nairobi) and Agnes Sila. Apostle John was stepbrother to Rebecca (Business lady Nairobi), Titus Musyoka (KDF), Ann, Maithya, Mwende, Kyalo, Kalunda, Mutisya, Beatrice, and Mutua Kako
As a child he enjoyed helping in the farm and was dedicated to learning. He excelled in school affording him opportunity to come to United States to further his studies at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting. Apostle John met the love of his life, Pennie, in 1986; they married in 1987 and went on to have two sons, Joseph (Tavonna) and Paul.
Apostle John was born again after receiving Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1964 and was involved in evangelism and as a Sunday school teacher as a youth before leaving Kenya. In US he was a member of Assemblies of God and later joined Capital Christian Center. Apostle John received his call to ministry in 1995 at a prayer retreat, the Lord spoke to him saying “My people shall be reconnected back to their God.” He received ministerial training and was ordained minister of the Gospel in 2001. In 2003, Apostle John and his wife founded Global Vision Center and Ministries now called Kingdom Vision Outreach Center and Ministries (www.kvom.org) Apostle John’s ministry has impacted lives both locally and globally with branch churches in Kenya and partners in India. Apostle John desired to see all people connected to Jesus Christ as he earnestly believed that it is not the plan of God for anyone to perish, but that all should come into repentance and be saved. In this passion, he committed to teaching and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to the nations by the power of the Holy Spirit. Apostle John’s ministry was not limited to the four walls of the church but extended outward to demonstrate love for people through mission work under the umbrella of Global Care Inc (www.glcare.org) He was a man of Kingdom building and a true visionary. We are forever grateful to God and the Lord Jesus Christ for the Kingdom building legacy of this great man of God.
