John's obituary
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of John "Johnny" Spencer.
Born on July 21, 1967, John navigated life with an easy-going demeanor, brimming with love, and a calming presence.
John completed his high school education in 1985 at Grace King in Metairie, LA.
A devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints, John had great love for his city and his team.
He found joy in the simpler moments of life, often spending time riding around the lakefront singing 80s hits with his sister, niece, and BIL. The light of his life was spending time with his daughter and son, whether it was traveling to the North Shore to have lunch (all foods were appreciated too, except pickle and tomatoes on burgers) or watching them swim at his condo, he would beam with pride. Johnny was an avid socializer, especially at the condo, where his presence in the community brightened many gatherings.
John's faith was a significant part of his life, regularly attending mass with his sister and brother-in-law. The peace and solace he found within the sanctuary walls were a comfort and a testament to his deeply-rooted beliefs.
John was predeceased by his father, John Spencer and his mother, Margaret Spencer. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his sister, Cindy Randall; brother-in-law, Stephen Randall; niece, Caroline Randall; son, Brandon Spencer; and daughter, Katelyn Spencer. He also leaves behind his grandson, Philip Roark; his ex-wife, Robin Collom; his son-in-law, Chris Vanacor, and long time friend, Stephen Guillot.
The loss of John's calm, easy-going presence will reverberate through the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. We remember John not for his end but for the abundant love and peace he brought into our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Date and time for his Mass at St. Angela will be forthcoming.
