Mr. John Clair Heathman, of Valencia, CA died at home on June 26, 2018 at the age of 75.

John was born on April 18, 1943 in Exeter, California. His parents, Coy Christopher Heathman and Gertrude Louise “Pat” Martin Heathman, moved John and his brother Eugene to Palmdale, CA in the late ‘50’s. After graduating from Palmdale High School in 1961, John enlisted in the US Navy where he traveled the world and protected the United States during the Cuban Missile Crisis. John served until 1964; he then spent the next 30 years working at Edwards Air Force base. In 1995, John relocated to Anchorage, AK. There he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and life in the great outdoors until 2017 when his health necessitated moving back to California to live with his daughter.

John will be loved and missed by surviving daughter, Erica A. Heathman and grandson, Wylnd C. Heathman. He is predeceased by his parents and brother.

At John's request, his body will be cremated and no formal services will be held. The family will hold a private memorial to scatter his ashes at sea.
