Four simple things you can do to make a huge difference for all of those who loved Mike:
* Show up for Mike for his Celebration of Life
RSVP and put August 9th at 12:45 pm on your calendar(s) with a reminder a week before. Target a 12:45 arrival, and the memorial will start at 1:15 pm. Please feel free to bring pictures and/or written stories to share with us, or as notes if you'd like to share a story. We may not be able to speak with everyone, and your sharing your stories in the Memory Book, or via a card would be so meaningful.
There will be beautiful live music by our talented family, and special thank you gifts for those who came. Midway into the program we'll have a brief intermission to get a plateful of hors d'oevres and fresh bevvie, and then gather again for the rest of the memorial. After the program and brunch, which will be about 1.5-2 hours give or take, we'll have time to visit, play cribbage, finish the Stemma IPA and Pilsner perhaps, and we actually have the place til 4.
You being here for his memorial will be deeply meaningful to us. Maybe you knew Mike, maybe you know Elizabeth, Davis or Finn, or his mum, brothers or family. All people with goodwill wanting to show care for Mike and his family are welcome, regardless of how well or how long you have known any of us. Seeing a room full of people will be an experience we as his family will never forget. Knowing Mike is remembered and loved is so important to us. You don't have to be close to the family for your presence to be welcomed and appreciated!
* Do you have a memory of Mike, or a picture? It could be silly, profound or anything in between. Please upload it to this website to share, or you can bring it to the memorial on August 9th. You cannot imagine how much these memories mean to us.
* Now that we are in 'the long after', we deeply appreciate your patience as we all grieve the loss of our beloved Mike. Be patient with yourself as you grieve Mike's death. Each human being grieves in their own way and their own pace. Grief is messy. Be kind and patient with yourself. Carpe diem.
* We have friends and family coming from out of town. If you have an apartment or home to offer up for guests to stay, we'd be immensely grateful. Reach out to Elizabeth at mikehampton2@comcast.net if you have any connections. Thank you!
