When Maria Lucia phoned me and told me  the tragic and very sad news that John had passed, I was deeply saddened and shocked, my heart sank. John was a mans man. He had a heart of gold. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Maria Lucia and John 10 years ago at the cigar lounge at the Brick House. We all hit it off immediately. They were that kind of people, easy going and fun to be around. I remember John having a handshake like a vice. I used to joke with him and say his hands were like a baseball mitt! John's heart was as big as his hands. Give you the shirt off his back. I used to see him tipping waiters and bartenders very generously all the time, yes, that was John.We spent a few years hanging out at the BH, smoking cigars and drinking, God I miss that, and wish I spent more time with both of them. My friend John had a very contagious laugh. If he was laughing ,you could not help but to laugh with him, I will never forget that about him. Mr. John Gibson will be missed by many friends and family who loved him dearly.  John was a very, very proud Dad. I never had the pleasure to meet his children, but I felt I knew them cause John talked about them many times. When he spoke about his children he had an ear to ear smile and his face lit up. Priceless!

Ironically the disease that took John from us all too soon, also took my Mom 14 years ago. Pulminary Fibrosis. I miss her dearly also.  No cause, no cure. I pray to God that one day there will be a cure for this dreadfull illness. John my friend, I hope to sit beside you one day and enjoy a cigar and some cognac like we did so many times before. Go with God my friend, and may you rest in peace. My heart goes out to Maria Lucia, Johns children and the family..  This is a tough loss for my wife and me. I am regretting not seeing him and Maria more in recent times. Life is too short and I regret not spending more quality time with a gem of a man. John got gipped, left us too soon. RIP big guy. We will pray for  Mr. John Gibson.
