It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John D. Guerra of Fort Mill, S.C. at the age of 62.  John was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend whose warmth and humor touched so many lives.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, John was raised in Jefferson Twp. and graduated from Jefferson Township High School. He furthered his education by graduating from Stockton State University.  John had a successful career with Selective Insurance, where he rose to the position of Assistant Vice President of Claims; a career spanning four decades.  He was known for his work ethic and dedication, a mentor to many in his field, and respected by all who knew him. 

John had an amazing group of friends whom he cherished deeply. He was often referred to as "the mayor" because he knew so many people. He had a kind and generous heart, always ready to lend a hand.  John enjoyed participating and supporting his children's many sports and activities. John was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and Bruce Springsteen. But mostly, his family and wide circle of friends were his pride and joy.  

John is survived by his family, Carol Guerra; son Nicolas Guerra; daughter Brianna Guerra; his mother Irene Scavusso and husband Paul; brother Paul Guerra and partner Margie; brother Eric Guerra and wife Mindi; and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father, Paul R. Guerra. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New Jersey.  We invite you all to share pictures and memories of John.  It was his wish that we laugh, reminisce, and smile together during this time. His memory will live on in our hearts always.
