John Henry Gonzalez

John Henry Gonzalez, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, after a battle with cancer. John was born on December 18th, 1941, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, son of the late Henry Gonzalez and his beloved mother Julia (Colon) Gonzalez. He moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1955, where he lived until moving to Queens. John had a charismatic personality and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed telling jokes, loved music and was a NY Mets fan. He was loved by everyone that knew him.

John is predeceased by his  beloved daughters Denise (2007) and Cynthia, Linda, and Debbie (1967)

John leaves behind his wife Muriel Gonzalez. beloved daughters Michele Rasmussen (Tom), Diane Gonzalez Mannino, and their mother, Geraldine Raia.

“Papa”  will be forever missed by his cherished grandchildren  Vito and Antonio Mannino, Kaitlyn, Kirsten, Thomas and Sierra Rasmussen, Juan Alvarez.

Also mourning his loss are his wife Muriel’s grandchildren Adrian, Sabrina and Michael, his sister Henrietta (Sonia) Van Lit, nieces Suzette (Suzie) and Stephanie, and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation and service  will be held at Seneca Chapels 495 Seneca Avenue, Ridgewood NY on Monday, January 16th 2023 from 4-8pm

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in his name.
