John Edward Gibson , 74, of McRae, Arkansas , passed away In hospice care at Little Rock, Arkansas on Wednesday, August fourth, 2021.
After battling a year long illness in the hospital.
John was born on November fourteenth of 1946, John is originally from Floyd County, Kentucky. Born and raised in the hollers of Kentucky before moving to Michigan as a teenager and then moving to mcrae Arkansas in his retirement years.
John was a retired semi truck driver contracted by many companies including all of the big three auto companies.
John was a member of faith Baptist church in auburn hills , michigan, where he was a deacon , an usher and lead choir singer as well as a solo singer at his church as well as a special guest singer at several churches in michigan, John was also invited to speak his ministries at other churches upon request as a special.guest and he always accepted the invitation to do so. John loved to lead the church in prayer and also took on the position as youth minister with David Cameron, together they organized all the youth and teen events every single week as well as minister to the youth.
John was also a member of his church in mcrae , Arkansas where he took on a new role, he became the community leader in his small town. He would run errands for the disabled, take people to the dr and to church and he would fix cars, homes, yards, driveways, he even took your pets to their appointments. No matter how big or small the need was he was there to assist with it. If you were just lonely he'd bring a game and stop to play checkers or cards or just visit with you. The ladies of the town all adopted him as a son as well as a friend and thanked him with lots of home made baked goodies. Sometimes he was running from daylight to dark and never complained. He had a kind soul who wanted to help. John also had a love for animals, any stray he found he rescued and he kept them and gave them their forever home. He never adopted them out, he said they were going to live with him now so they weren't without food, water or a home. His own animal rescue was born and he kept it right until the end.
As kids we always had animals , cats, dogs, pigs, chickens, all kinds of barn yard animals and even a monkey. John loved to hunt and fish and always gave the food to those in need from all his hunting and fishing outings.
John will be remembered as a kind person who just simply helped others whenever he could and loved doing it.
