John's obituary

John Foster, 66, of Santa Rosa, CA, passed away on September 09, 2023, after a Sudden heart attack, and a long battle with COPD,  heart disease, and other failing health issues.

John was born on March 25, 1957, to Calvin Eugene Foster and Margaret A. Foster in Torrence, CA. After Attending Anaheim High School 1973-1976.   After high school,  he worked several trades as a Carpenter, Painter, Construction, and Polysomnographic Tech at Hoag Hospital and Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.   John studied and received his Associate of Arts Degree in Polysomnographic studies from Orange Coast College where he worked as a sleep studies technician for people with sleep disorders.

In his later years, he moved to Santa Rosa where he settled in and quickly made friends. Whether it was helping out being a handyman, painting or just simply enjoying the time with his family and his dogs.  He loved from the heart and wore his heart on his sleeveJohn also loved Pizza and smoking a cigarette, knowing full well it was not in his "DIET".

John was very sick and his later years, and fought to have things his way and checked himself out of the hospital in Santa Rosa stating if he was going to have his last meal it was not in that hospital an ordered a large pizza and walked out of the hospital to later be found with a pizza and smoke and in his hands at the last hour of his life.  He told the hospital staff the food sucks there, and walked out with no place to go but a determination not to die on his terms.  That is the kind of gumption John has and is respected.  He did things his way.  John transitioned to heaven after that on  Saturday, September 9th, 2023. He leaves behind a family that loved him and will miss him.

John was the oldest sibling of the Foster family he was the oldest boy. He is survived by eight other brothers and sisters Linda Moore and Harold of Utah, Sherry Roberts of Torrance, Beverly and Andrew Scott of San Ramon, Alan and Victoria Foster of Hemet, Jessica and Vince Lopez of Corona, Stewart Henry Foster of Hemet, Richard Foster of Santa Rosa, Jennifer and Jeff Seymour of Orange, and 22 nieces and nephews and Grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his father Calvin Eugene Foster and his mother Margaret A. Foster.
