Lenda, I just heard about John’s passing today. Albeit several months ago, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family today. I cannot express how much gratitude I have for John. He was the one who gave me a chance at leadership. He is the one who mentored me and never gave up. In my long career at Aetna and now Cigna, I have often thought about his approach to leadership and the qualities I learned from him that I still hold close today. Thanks for everything, John and may you Rest In Peace!

Our most sincere condolences from the Maitland family - we've known John as a boss, a co-worker and a friend and he will be missed.
John was an amazing man. He mentored and befriended many of us in the Allentown office and beyond. He personally invested in my development. John gave me my first leadership opportunity and continued to mentor and assist in my development. I would NOT be where I am today without his presence in my life.

He not only invested in those he worked with. He invested in our families. My daughter took a liking to John during a "Bring your child to work day" and chose John as a leader she looked to to participate in some of her school activities. No surprise, he obliged. Flat Stanley will always hold a special place in my John memory library.

God speed and prayers for Lenda and family. Thank you for sharing him with all of us

First i wanted to say that myself and my wife Yvonne are so very sorry for your loss. John was an amazing person and he will me missed. Both my wife and I worked in departments managed by John at Aetna and he was always so kind, funny and the best manager. When I became a manager at Aetna I modeled my style after John's. The one story about John that was so personal to me was when when I was re-hired back at Aetna in 2001. I had been employed with Aetna for 2 1/2 years in John's area and left to pursue another job opportunity. This did not pan out so I applied back to Aetna hoping to get rehired. I got the job and I was pulled aside by HR after the orientation and told that when John heard I was applying back, he personally told them to hire me back and he wanted me placed in his department. That was so meaningful that he remembered me and gave me that opportunity. 20 years later I am still with the company and I will never forget what John did for me. You will be missed my friend. God Bless you.
Lenda and family, I am sorry to hear of John's passing. I remember him as a kind, fair and terrific leader at the office and an all around terrific man and father through My time working with you. All our love and prayers at this time are with you
