Years may pass, but Ricky Day will always be a part of our good memories and in our hearts! Spent several years as best friends with Ricky, Kim and the kids. Have many funny memories of our trips to Florida! He was a great friend, and will always be missed.
I had the rare privilege of introducing Ricky Day to the beach. We struck out one Friday night headed for Panama City Beach. Rick and his family were following us in their vehicle. All the way there I was thinking that when we arrived Ricky wouldn't even like the beach and the whole week would be a disaster. When we made the turn on Highway 98, Rick saw the beach off to his right for the first time. He immediately stopped his car, crossed a fence and sprinted to the beach. He was overwhelmed!! He said this was the greatest thing he had ever seen and he didn't want to leave. I had to let him know that we were still a good distance from where we were staying, Howell's Cottages. We finally got Rick back in the car and proceeded to our final destination. We had a great week and Rick fell in love with the beach, as most of you know! We spent the next several years sharing vacation with our two families....having some of the best Florida times of our lives! Much Love to our Dear Friend, Rick Day! You are forever in our hearts and in our memories....miss you deeply!
Sorry for the families loss. I've only nown him for awhile but like it was said he never met a stranger... Praying for peace and comfort for the family.
I was at Elliston with Ricky. Great football player and many of us looked up to him. He was an inspirational athlete to all of us younger and I assume all at Elliston. I lost touch with him but will always remember him as a good person.
I am so sorry to hear of Ricki’s passing. He was a good friend in high school and we also hung out some in Jackson when I was in college. He was a lot of fun to hang out with as you can imagine. Ricki had that bigger than life personality and that will be missed. We played football together and he was one of the toughest guys I ever played with. So he will be missed by all who knew him.
